UCSB FEL COLLECTORS

Collector Type 1

photo of collector[gif 58K][jpeg 17K] This is a 4 stage depressed collector designed for the original UCSB FEL. It has been modified by removal of its 40 KV decelerator section to increase energy spread acceptance to 50 KV.

Collector Type 2

This is a 5 stage depressed collector. It was originally designed for a pulsed 20 A beam with 200 KV energy spread. It is currently installed in the 2 MV, CW, MM-Wave FEL and will be further modified with the addition of liquid cooling for a 2 A, DC beam with 30 KV energy spread.
